The Georgia Hearing Aid Distribution Program, enacted by the Georgia Legislature,
provides hearing aids to Georgians, subject to eligibility requirements. The Commission
has contracted with the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, a nonprofit organization
that has provided hearing aids to low-income Georgians for over 30 years. |

On November 1, 2007, this program will begin distributing hearing aids to Georgia
residents according to the following guidelines: |

Income must not exceed 200% of the federal poverty guidelines |
|
Applicants must be a Georgia resident for at least one year |
|
Applicants must present a recommendation from a state-licensed hearing care provider |
|
Hearing aids will only be dispensed through a state-licensed hearing care provider |
|
The program serves Georgians of all ages, including those under 21 years of age if they meet program requirements but do not qualify for Medicaid or Peachcare. |
