Georgia Hearing Aid Distribution Program
The Georgia Hearing Aid Distribution Program, enacted by the Georgia Legislature, provides hearing aids to Georgians, subject to eligibility requirements. The Commission has contracted with the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, a nonprofit organization that has provided hearing aids to low-income Georgians for over 30 years.
On November 1, 2007, this program will begin distributing hearing aids to Georgia residents according to the following guidelines:
Income must not exceed 200% of the federal poverty guidelines
Applicants must be a Georgia resident for at least one year
Applicants must present a recommendation from a state-licensed hearing care provider
Hearing aids will only be dispensed through a state-licensed hearing care provider

The program serves Georgians of all ages, including those under 21 years of age if they meet program requirements but do not qualify for Medicaid or Peachcare.
For detailed information on the program, contact the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation through their web site at www.lionslighthouse.org or call 404-325-3630 or 800-718-7483 outside metro Atlanta.
